I Created a Tool to Help You Write About Trauma Safely (Launching Friday)
For the past few weeks, I’ve been creating something I wish had existed when I first started writing about trauma.
Back then, I didn’t know:
How to check in with my nervous system before I began
When to stop vs. when to keep going
What to do when emotions got too intense
How to close a writing session without carrying the weight all day
I learned all of this the hard way—through panic attacks, sleepless nights, and sessions that left me shaking.
So I made the guide I needed back then.
The 5-Minute Safety Check Digital Card Deck
30 interactive cards to help you write about difficult things without retraumatizing yourself in the process.
It includes:
Daily readiness check-ins (before you write)
Real-time guidance (when emotions surface)
Emergency grounding techniques (when you go too deep)
Integration practices (for after you’re done)
Each card flips from question to guidance. Keep them open while you write. Use what you need, when you need it.
This Friday, November 1st, I’m making them available.
Price: $27
Launch Week Bonus
The first 50 buyers will receive:
10 Gentle Writing Prompts for Difficult Topics (PDF) — Prompts designed to help you approach hard material safely, starting at the edges rather than diving into the deep end.
This bonus is only available during launch week and only for the first 50.
Why I Created This
Because I spent too many nights lying awake, replaying scenes I’d put on paper, wondering if I was healing or just hurting myself all over again. I had to learn through trial and error that writing about trauma without boundaries isn’t brave—it’s harmful. The line between processing and retraumatizing is thinner than most people think, and nobody tells you where it is.
I created these cards for the writer who pushes through when their hands are shaking, for the person who feels guilty for taking breaks, for anyone who’s ever wondered: Am I doing this right, or am I making it worse?

Your story matters. Your wellbeing matters more.

This piece really resonated with me — especially your point about how writing trauma can reopen what’s still healing.
I’ve been exploring a related idea from the educational side: how college essay systems sometimes reward exposure instead of discernment.

Thank you for giving language to something that so many of us feel.
